Allocutio (December, 2009)
Fr. Lawrence Goode, Spiritual Director
This month's Allocutio is on The Government of the Legion: The Legionary Council, continued, p. 158-159 of the handbook
"This section should be read by all Legionaries, as we undertake discussions and decisions regarding the government of the Legion. There were real battles over different aspects of the Legion, at three Concilium meetings which I attended in Dublin. It is quite likely that more people will come to the meeting when there is a lively discussion over matters. It is better to rely on the handbook first, rather than the Points of Uniformity, and arguments should be made from the handbook. When a question is raised, an answer must be given, and Concilium often provides some guidance, if the matter cannot be resolved. We should continue to emphasize junior work, and please pray and support those who are involved in the Family and Junior Praesidia.... In our parish, Our Lady of Guadalupe is very important, and tomorrow is preparation day for the celebration which begins early Saturday morning. So, this month, I offer you my blessing for the feast of Our of Guadalupe, and please read pages 158-159 in the handbook, and think about participating in governing the Legion".
