(This Allocutio was given the month before the Family Rosary Crusade in October)
"We are five weeks away from the Rosary Rally. Many activities and preparations continue, under the leadership of the San Francisco Senatus. Br. Frost had an online phone interview with "Life on the Rock", the nationally televised EWTN program. The interview was arranged by Eva Muntean of Ignatius Press. Two twin sisters, high school students from the Convent of the Sacred Heart, were flown to the TV Studio to appear on the program. Br. Frost, and the sisters, did extremely well at the interview. They were knowledgeable about Fr. Peyton, his work, and his Rosary Rally here in San Francisco in 1961. The student's father was at that rally...As a result of the EWTN program, people from around the state and the country have said they will attend the Rosary Rally.
The organizational work of our Senatus Officers is ongoing. A meeting to discuss the program for the Rally was held at the home of Br. and Sr. Perlas, and the program was approved by the Archdiocese. It will include meditations on the Rosary from Fr. Peyton's prayer book, and Seminarians will be the readers at the Rally.
Bishop Ignatius Wang is coming, and other Bishops have been invited. (Although the Archbishop's illness will prevent him from attending). Three Holy Cross Fathers, who have continued Fr. Peytons ministry, will attend.
Support from the Knights of Columbus is increasing. Some retired Catholic Journalists are helping us to get articles into the Secular Press, and we hope to have a Spokesperson who will speak about the Rally in the press, and for TV stations.
Preparations for the sound system, and for erecting the stage continue.
